Macadamias are an Australian native nut tree that is extensively grown on the north coast of NSW and QLD.
Macadamias flower mainly in September to produce this nutty flavoured honey. Bees also breed very well on macadamia pollen.
Banksia is a small to medium size tree found in coastal areas. Flowers are arranged in compact oblong and cylindrical spikes.
This tree produces honey that is dark amber and strong in flavour.
Each year Goldfields Apiaries takes beehives to Orange groves on the Macquaire River, in the well-known orange producing district of Narromine. This honey has a slight citrus taste.
The Eucalypt tree is native to Australia, with approx. 900 species, producing different coloured, flavoured & dense honeys. Different species flower at the same time in the same forest, making it too hard for the beekeepers to determine the type of honey that is being produced. This is called a natural blend, which we call it Eucalypt … not always the same but always a good flavour.
